Cash Converters is recognized as the worldwide leading innovator in the field of value retailing. People have been trading goods for hundreds and hundreds of years. The primal instinct to exchange one thing for something else probably pre-dates written history. It's an instinct that drives bargain hunters to garage sales and auction lovers to on-line sites. The desire to strike a deal, to barter or to think you have obtained something for virtually nothing is the reason Cash Converters came into existence. What started out as seven outlets in Perth Australia back in the 80's is now a worldwide retail phenomenon with over 500 stores established in the United Kingdom, France, Spain, Malaysia, New Zealand the US and Canada.

Investment
The total investment for a Cash Converters store ranges from $160,000 - $250,000. Of the franchise cost $50,000 - $100,000 must be unencumbered cash or liquid assets. The remaining amount may be financed through various lending programs offered by the chartered banks, providing of course the candidate meets the normal borrowing requirements.

Selection Process

The selection of a new Cash Converters Franchisee is an important decision involving an interview approval process. Not everyone who applies for a franchise meets the criteria necessary to be a Cash Converters Franchisee. For mutual success and satisfaction we must ensure that each potential Franchisee possesses the necessary drive, management skills, financial means and dedication required in today's competitive retail market.

A Cash Converters Franchisee may be a hands-on operator or an investor with a management team to operate the store. Both options are allowed and have proven successful under our concept.

Operational Support

Each Cash Converters Franchisee has the support of a regional business consultant. Your consultant has extensive experience with our franchising system and is available to offer advice on day to day activities or whenever you need a few words of wisdom. Your consultant also reviews and advises you on your Financials as needed.

Cash Converters Franchisees also have the opinion of an independent third party individual to provide feedback on the service and look of their store. Each month the Mystery Shopper will prepare their report and have it available on the web for the Franchisees review. This is an important tool that reflects the consumer's view of the Stores service and appearance.

Cash Converters hosts a national conference or regional meetings for its Franchisees every year. The conference/meetings are a time to introduce new programs as well as to provide hands on training to the owners and managers. This is a great social event providing the Franchisees with the opportunity to network with their fellow Franchisees, acknowledge the accomplishments of the year with the presentation of awards to the top performers and to have a great time.

Cash Converters is a retailer specializing in the buy and sell of second hand goods. Our customers bring us a wide range of merchandise: jewellery, home entertainment units, car audio systems, musical instruments, power tools, video games and game systems, TV's, DVDs and just about anything portable.

Once a person with something to sell enters the Buy Shop, "the eleven steps of buying" begin. This is a negotiation system designed by Cash Converters, just one of the many tools we provide to a Franchisee. The buying process may seem daunting, particularly when customers bring in such a wide variety of merchandise but our proven systems give Franchisee the information and confidence they need to make the smart buying decisions .

After a price is determined and the goods have been tested, the seller accepts either cash or store credit. The seller's personal information and merchandise description is recorded and entered into the Cash Converters computer system. The merchandise then enters the store's inventory hold for the time period required by local law. Ensuring that sellers are over 18 years of age and have photo ID helps to ensure that all items sold to Cash Converters are the seller's rightful property. When merchandise has cleared the hold period it's time to get it out on the floor. It's cleaned, if necessary, and placed in the appropriate department available for sale to the public.

It's a simple and effective process that keeps both sellers and buyers coming back. That's what it's all about.

Consignment
Cash Converters accepts customer merchandise on a consignment bases. At times the item is unusual and may not be the type of item normally purchased by the store or it may be that the customer wishes a higher price than the store is able to pay for the item. One can always choose to sell the item through the Classified ads but that entails waiting by the phone and allowing strangers in your home. Bring it to Cash Converters and allow us to handle the transaction.
BuyBacks
Some Cash Converters also provide their customer with a BuyBack option. This allows the customer the option of selling their merchandise to Cash Converters and buying back their merchandise after a specified period of time.
	Cheque Cashing*
Need immediate funds for your cheque? Cash Converters now offers confidential cheque cashing services to it's customers at select locations. Our cheque cashing service is fast and easy and our rates are very competitive. We accept payroll, government, disability, social services, GST and tax return cheques. Come in and ask for details.
	Pre Paid Master Card*
Pre-paid MasterCard is now available at Cash Converters. The pre-paid card is perfect for students, teens, on-line purchases and reservations and anyone without credit. It's accepted wherever you see the Master Card brand. Ask for details.
	Pre Paid Debit Card*
A pre-paid debit card means you have no need to carry cash. Shop and travel safely without the worry of losing your cash. Your card can be used in all store point of sale systems, ATM's and bank machines.
